Fun Facts

Something I look forward to every year is traveling to a new state! My long-term goal is to have visited all 50 states and I am currently resting at 19/50. If my friends could give a fun fact about me, they would all say that I am a foodie. I'm open to trying any food recommendations in the DFW!

About Me

I am a current masters student at the University of North Texas. This is my last semester in school, and I am set to graduate in May 2022! Houston is where I call home, so I'm a Texas girl at heart.

Experience

As a graduate assistant at the UNT Career Center, I've developed a passion for helping other students to improve their writing for the purpose of job/school applications. With my bachelors in Communications, I was required to complete a handful of writing-related courses in college, and I was also fortunate to have parents who instilled their writing practices in me.

Approach

Writing can be intimidating, but it does not have to be! My approach is to help students find ease within their writing, so they never have to worry about meeting their page minimum. Once all the information is on paper, the editing process is a breeze! I would love to share the skills and information I've acquired over the last few years with students who are looking to take that next step in improving their writing.

Writing Tutoring

In the last few years, I have seen a tremendous improvement in my writing. As a Communications major in college, I was required to complete a handful of writing/editing courses which ultimately helped me in more ways than I expected. My passion now is sharing the tips I've learned whilst in those courses with others because everyone can benefit from knowing how to write regardless of their professional/educational background.

Communication Tutoring

Majoring in Communications in undergrad allowed me to become a better writer and a better communicator. A few of my favorite courses for my degree were Foundations of Communications, Public Speaking, Editing, and Technical Writing. Each of these courses were essential to my growth as a young professional and educator/tutor.

Graduate Level Writing Tutoring

As a current masters student, the entirety of the assignments completed for my program are centered around essays. I've learned over the last 2 years that great writing is not dependent on the content, but it's more so dependent on how well you clean up your writing samples. In my fourth and final semester of my program, I've managed to earn A's on every single one of my papers.

Writing Advance Tutoring

I believe the best preparation for college or the real world is teaching students how to write professionally and how to edit their own writing. A common mistake I made in high school was writing in a way that was similar to how I spoke. Big mistake. Once students reach the college level, most of their programs may or may not prioritize writing like mine did as a communications major. If they can learn the skills beforehand, they will be successful for the rest of their professional career.

Homework Coach Tutoring

I would like to assist children with their homework assignments thus making the process feel enjoyable and less of a burden!
