Fun Facts

I grew up in Northern Idaho and moved to Denver two years ago. My weekends are filled with teaching Sunday School, leading the youth from my church, and exploring all that Denver (and Colorado) have to offer. In my free time, I enjoy sewing! Call me an "old soul", but there is just something about creating my own clothes that boosts my confidence.

About Me

I attend University of Colorado-Denver and have a 3.5 GPA. My major is a BA in Teaching, Learning, and Development with my emphasis being Elementary Education. After I graduate, I plan on applying to work for Denver Public Schools or another school district in the Denver Metro area.


Throughout grade school and high school, I tutored many of my peers per the instructor's request. This includes my favorite subjects: math, science, and history.

On Sundays, I teach a sunday school class of primary aged children (2-7). My responsibilities include: creating weekly lessons, picking a craft to go along with the lesson, and teaching the lesson.

In addition, bi-weekly, I volunteer as a denver">tutor for the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver. This opportunity brings me great pleasure seeing the brightened faces when they finally understand a concept that was previously confusing.

I have excelled throughout all of my schooling career. This is not because I am some genius, but because I learned at a young age how to employ study techniques. Some of my favorites include analogies, imagery, and reteaching.

I provide a calm and patient environment for children to work through the problems without being rushed. When children make their own connection for that subject, there is less of a chance of them forgetting. This allows them to be successful for whatever form of assessment their instructor may give them.
