Fun Facts
I am a very family oriented person. Being the youngest of four and having two children of my own, I usually spend my spare time with my family. We enjoy playing cards or board games and just spending time together. I also love traveling. My dream is to just take off to see all the wonders of the west.
About Me
I recently received my Bachelor of Science in Education from the memphis">University of Memphis. I graduated with a 3.65 GPA and was on the Dean's List for the last five semesters of my college career. My career goals include teaching in a public elementary school beginning next school year and retiring from it.
As a volunteer for six months at the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, I had the opportunity to memphis">tutor students weekly. My time with them consisted of assisting with homework, teaching organizational skills, and memphis">tutoring many different subjects.
As a college student, I also completed a Data Based Instruction project. For this project I tested a student, identified his/her strengths and weaknesses, and then found a strategy to help the student improve his/her weakness.
I also have experience meeting the needs of diverse students. For each lesson I taught during my Residency year at the memphis">University of Memphis, I included modifications for students who did not master the objective as well as for students who were ready for enrichment activities.
Every student is different. They have different needs, interests, and learning styles. I believe it is important to get to know the student and use this information to help them. I will use the interests and learning style of each individual student to keep them engaged in the activity and learning. It is also important for students to understand the importance of the information they are learning. My goal is to help them make connections between what they are learning and everyday life.
