Fun Facts
After graduating from high school, I spent 3.5 years traveling, teaching, and performing with an international performing arts group called the Young Americans! During my time in the group, I visited 16 different countries and 40 U.S. states, and I was able to teach hundreds of children how to sing and dance. At the moment, I am training for my first marathon and teach spin cycling classes at my local gym!
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, where I majored in sociology and double-minored in music and theatre. I also have an associates degree in music performance with vocal and acting emphases. For both of these degrees, I graduated with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. I ultimately wish to gain my PhD in sociology and teach at the university level.
Experience
While enrolled at the Young Americans College of the Performing Arts, I tutored students in music theory and piano for a semester. Upon enrolling at Hamilton College, I became an oral communication tutor, preparing individuals and small groups for for oral presentations, debates, group presentations, oral exams, poster presentations, and speaking competitions across academic disciplines. I was also a TA for a speaking-intensive course in country music for a semester.
Approach
As a child, I was fortunate to find that school came easily to me, and I quickly developed a love of learning that has lasted until this day. One of my deepest passions is sharing and cultivating that love with others, especially those who have had particularly difficult experiences in school. Using patience and understanding, I strive to inspire the students I tutor to discover their potential in all areas, from academic achievement to social relationships.
