Fun Facts

One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love reading fantasy and dystopian novels! The Hunger Games, Divergent, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Shadow and Bone, and many more books are some of my favorites, and I would love to talk about them anytime. I also really love being athletic, so going to the gym, swimming, and hiking are some of my go-to pastimes.

About Me

I am a sophomore Computational and Systems Biology major at UCLA. I am on the Dean's List and am a regional qualifier in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Math for HOSA. In high school, I was named Student of the Year and salutatorian, receiving a 4.41 GPA with 13 AP classes.

Experience

As a previous tutor at Kara Tutoring Limited, I instructed international students for SAT preparation and various AP courses with my own lesson plans and online resources as well as created monthly calendars for each student and provided lessons via Zoom. I've been able to improve students' scores on the SAT by 160 points on average. I've also been a tutor with Care.com and have several positive reviews for my patience and concrete explanations.

Approach

My approach is modeled after my high school Calculus teacher. His style was a combination of charisma and visual explanations that made me inclined to participate and actually understand the material visually and numerically. His explanations tailored to multiple learning styles are a method that I use today. Many people are visual learners, so I incorporate a visual representation of what the problem is asking for.
