Fun Facts

I am an avid bookworm; my favorite, oddly enough, is historical nonfiction, which I really started to get into after reading The Hard Hat Riot. I also love cycling, and oddly enough, I'm starting to develop a talent for basketball, which is much more fun now that my hook shot means I don't get stuffed taking shots in the post.

About Me

Graduated in Business Economics from the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH, then got my certification as a data analyst 4 years later from the richmond">University of Richmond Data Science program.

Experience

I have extensive experience in tutoring, beginning all the way back in high school (10 years ago). I am currently tutoring 5 nights a week. My specialty is tutoring students in mathematics, from elementary computation all the way up through calculus. I can also tutor students in statistics, at the high school and college level. Recently, I've started to broaden the subjects in which I am tutoring students, to include both micro and macroeconomics, and middle and high school science.

Approach

Every student is unique, and each unique student has very unique needs. These unique needs create challenges for all of us: in elementary school, I had a habit of doing all math problems exclusively in my head, and struggled with showing my work. I eventually overcame that challenge by learning to solve problems in steps, rather than all at once, which was more conducive to how I understood math. So I make it my business to tailor my tutoring to how my student understands and learns new things

Accounting Tutoring

Accounting was part of my Business Economics major. I can help students with FIFO, LIFO, and GAAP accounting. This subject is best learned by putting pen to paper, so tutoring with me will involve lots of practice problems!
