Fun Facts

Some of my hobbies include singing and dancing! I'm also a huge fan of K-Pop! Some of my favorite groups include: BTS, ATEEZ, Enhypen. I have 2 pets: a cat and a dog. My dog doesn't like other dogs, but she likes cats.

About Me

I am a former secondary math teacher and am currently substitute teaching. I did my teaching program and received my master's degree in Education from Claremont Graduate University. Prior to graduate school, I received my bachelors degree in Liberal Studies from Cal Poly Pomona where I was on the Dean's and President's list.

Experience

I have only worked in the education field for the past 6 years. I started off working with students at the K-8 level as a teacher's aide and assistant program leader. I then began working with high school students at a high school as an instructional aide. It was in that position that I decided to become a secondary math teacher. In my teaching program, I was a student teacher at a 6-12 school teaching students in 9-10 grade. Then, my most recent experience was being a classroom teacher for Math

Approach

What I love about working with students is being able to help them realize their potential. I've encountered many students who have expressed a fear or dislike towards math because of the past experiences they have had. Therefore, I have found that it is incredibly powerful to emphasize a growth mindset and constantly remind students that they are absolutely capable of learning math.
