Fun Facts
One thing that is special about me is that I have a natural passion for knowledge and am able to use it in order to better the world. If I am not reading a book you can find me on my laptop researching a new topic or watching a documentary. My goal is to make progressive change in this world through the spread of education and knowledge. I love writing, sitting outside, and spending time with my animals. I also enjoy attending volunteering events & clubs dedicated to bettering the KC Community.
About Me
I am a driven woman with a wide range of skills, experience and education. After graduating high school, I attended University of Kentucky. I am honored to be 1 of the first students to ever finish the Neuroscience Program in Dec '18. I completed all Pre - Med courses, obtained a B.S. in Neuroscience & Minor in Psychology - identity / behavior. I received a Departmental Scholar of Neuroscience certificate, achieved Cum Laude Honors and was Inducted into The Neuroscience National Honors Society
Experience
I began my tutoring journey when I was 14, it started with teaching my siblings life skills and helping with homework to becoming a teacher's aide to honors chemistry & physical science. Later I became intern / group leader for college general chemistry & doing personal tutoring on the side. I have spent a lot of time in volunteer groups dedicated to bettering the education among kids and teens. After returning to KC in 2019, I decided to expand my tutoring service to all ages and all subjects.
Approach
Since I was a child, I knew I learned different than most; A creative mind given the gift of severe ADHD. I often debated with teachers growing up that the standard methods of teaching would not work for the way my brain processes information. With the right method, all neurodivergents can learn too. As a tutor, I do a thorough analysis on how my students' process, retain, and store information in their brain, then create an individualized study plan that fits best with their learning style.
