Fun Facts
I LOVE BASKETBALL!!! I've been playing for over 20 years and love watching the NBA and the NCAA tournament.
About Me
I am a graduate of the University of Illinois where I studied acting, theatre, and English. Since then I have acted in plays, television shows, and films. As a writer I've written short films, features, poems, short stories, songs and plays. I make it a point to read something new everyday whether it be a book, a story, or anything else that can expand my knowledge of the world.
Experience
Starting when I was still in high school I one on one tutored younger members of my basketball team; a practice I continued in college with members of my class as we worked through the cannon of one of my favorite authors William Shakespeare. As time went on I helped high schoolers when their time came to study it and other forms of poetry. I also spent time volunteering at my old grade school helping with reading comprehension to students who needed it.
Approach
As a child I was far from the best student. I struggled to find my footing. It took a teacher, Mrs. Peterson, who taught seventh grade English to help unlock learning for me. She would sit and take time with me after class to help me learn to comprehend what I was taking in. She has a mantra that I firmly believe in " It doesn't matter how you learn or how much time it takes. All that matters is that you do." I'll work with you and your child to find the how that works for them.
