Basically ,I would do three things, firstly, take a look at his exam papers and analyze the mistakes he made in the exam . Secondly , he would share his recent school life with me , especially something confused him , and I would share my experience with him and talked about how I dealt with these situations. What`s more ,I would look through his homework , and based on the mistakes he made in the homework and exam , I would find some similar questions for him to practice and improve.
