Fun Facts
I have lived abroad for nearly half of my life- about 6 years in Brazil, 2 in Jamaica and 1 year in Trinidad. Throughout those years I had developed a passion for international film analysis and critique, it was something fun my friends and I would do when we had to time off.
About Me
I am a busy Pre-med student-athlete (swimmer) at holyoke-college">Mount Holyoke College, and as someone from a tiny, rural town in Iowa, I've learned the importance of community and the impact you have on those around you. In my volunteer groups, I help young black students from low-income communities excel in their classes, and raise money to provide safe contraceptive resources for women in the Holyoke/Springfield area. In the future, I hope to be a pediatrician in low-income communities in the DMV area.
Experience
As an all-academic student-athlete who has 40+ hours of volunteer work with black students from low-income communities both in Brazil and across the east coast of the US, I have substantial experience helping kids get to where they need to be academically. Working with Frog Tutoring would allow me to continue helping students from any background!
Approach
Being the first child of two high-achieving parents has pushed me towards academic excellence, but it wasn't always that easy. I was constantly under pressure to succeed in class, and when that didn't happen it felt like the end of the world. The tutors that worked with me helped me gain confidence and reach my academic goals, and without tutoring, I wouldn't have become the student I am today. I want to continue to help students feel accomplished and confident in their work, they deserve it!

Biology
Biology Tutoring
Studied HL (Higher Level) biology at the IB level my junior year of highschool and did AP biology my senior year of highschool. In both courses I completed the year with an A- average. Currently I am majoring in Biology on the Pre-med track.
English Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all middle school topics including english [language, reading, comprehension, writing]. Throughout middle school I took higher level english literature and language, and received an A in AP English literature.
History Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all middle school topics including History [US History, War History (World Wars, Vietnam, Russo-Japanese, Spanish-American), Colonization and almost any other topic covered in middle school history. I received an A in Higher Level History in the IB Program my junior year of high school.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all middle school topics, I work with each student and help them with any extra homework that they may have left to do from class.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all elementary school topics including english [language, reading, comprehension, writing]. Throughout highs school I took higher level english literature and language, and received an A in AP English literature.
Science Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all middle school topics including middle school science. We go over everything from biology (cells, nervous/circulatory systems, plants..), chemistry (atoms, periodic table, bonds/reaction.) and even some physics (energy, motion and forces). I am currently on the pre-med track with a major in Biology so I sciences are my specialty and the pre-med track requires that I take multiple courses in biology, chemistry, physics and math.
Elementary Math Tutoring
Have worked with kids from low-income communities regarding basic elementary math like: counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, shapes & time, number patterns, charts and using calculators along with almost anything else that is part of elementary math. I am currently a biology major on the pre-med track so I use basic math everyday in my classes.
Reading Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all elementary school topics including english [language, reading, comprehension, writing]. Social Studies Tutoring
Have worked with kids in low-income areas in elementary history/social studies. We've worked on for example: History of the US (presidents, government branches, native Americans, civil war...), US States & geography, Global geography, Dinosaurs & Prehistoric times... almost any topic in the general elementary social science subject.
Writing Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all elementary school topics including english [language, reading, comprehension, writing]. Throughout highs school I took higher level english literature and language, and received an A in AP English literature.
Conversational Portuguese Tutoring
Lived in Brazil for about 6 years starting from when I was 10 years old. I studied Portuguese in Brazil at school for those 6 years while also being fully immersed in the culture and with the people. I understand, speak read and write Portuguese nearly fluently.
Math Tutoring
I work with children from low income communities as well as with my younger disabled brother on all middle school topics including middle school math. In my lessons we review pre-algebra, pre-calculus, trigonometry and almost any other middle school math topic in the syllabus. We do lots of work with IXL. I took advanced math throughout high school and use math all throughout my courses that I take in college as I am a biology major.
