I have been dancing hula for 20 years, since I was two years old! I also have a deep love for basketball and am the oldest out of four siblings.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Seattle Pacific University, where I have been on the Dean's List throughout my four years. During my junior and senior years, I was able to get two editorial internships at Image Journal and Seattle Met magazine, both based out of Seattle Washington! I hope to continue my career at other magazines or journals and go on to get my PhD in English Literature. But just because I am an English major, does not mean that I don't love math--it was actually my favorite subject in high school and I miss it a lot! I am also the boys basketball coach for the elementary school and was the basketball captain all throughout middle and high school for my own team.

Experience

Being a Creative Writing and Literature double major, I was able to read a plethora of different works from across genres, while learning how to hone my writing to meet high expectations implemented by my professors. In addition to my rigorous classes, working in editorial for nearly three years has taught me how to creatively integrate and blend my own voice into various topics. Approach

As the oldest of four and someone who works well with children of all ages, I firmly believe in affirming their ways of thinking and knowing, while simultaneously providing a space where we can both learn from each other and sharpen their already existing skills. As a college graduate, on the other hand, I am able to use my higher learning expertise to aid with honing those skills and provide a better outlook for older students.
