Fun Facts

Some things that most people know about me are that I have only one brother who is younger than me by two years. I love to play catch when I can, walking is the next thing I like to do a lot, especially when it is bright and windy out. The only states that I have been to besides Illinois, are Wisconsin and Florida, besides that I've only visited my parents homeland only four times. I have been married for almost four years! I hope to live in Germany to see if I still know the language.

About Me

This is my fourth year at St. Vincent DePaul University (Chicago, IL), with a major in Secondary Education with the concentration in Math. I hope to get a masters after starting a job, hopefully in CPS and then move to another school/area after that. Other than that, I would like to become a volleyball coach and/or softball coach, as well as a math coach/chicago">tutor at the school that I will teach.

Experience

As a seasonal employee of Blooming Bud Daycare, I often help the children with their summer homework or after school homework. During the summer for the children that haven't started school, I have made worksheets for them to work on, so that they may learn something new or refresh something they may have learned at home.

Approach

When beginning a lesson, I start off with understanding what the student needs help in and see exactly what it is that is confusing. I first explain the question/problem that is confusing and do an example. If the student doesn't understand the example I do another problem, with that problem I have the student answer some parts of the answer (e.g. plus, minus, 2x, etc...).
