I enjoy new experiences. I like drawing, exercising, traveling, and backpacking. I have visited several countries by myself. I played basketball in junior and high school. In addition I enjoy playing disc golf , fishing and gardening with my husband.

About Me

I was born in and grew up in Japan. I lived there till three years ago, when I got married and then moved to the US. I studied and received a Bachelor in literature at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.

Experience

In Japan, I was a teacher at a Christian private school for 10 years. I taught English, Japanese, Math, Art, Bible, and PE to 6 to 15 year old students. After moving to the US, I taught a couple of conversational Japanese classes and tutored a teenager in Japanese. I really enjoy teaching because I have a passion to encourage and help students grow.

Approach

I begin by discovering where the students are at. From there, I help them to improve. How fast or how deep I teach will be dependent on the students. I will try to find the best way for each student to learn. And I believe that cultivating a joyful experience is important to learning!
