About Me

I am a passionate educator who loves to help students meet their full potential. Reading and writing are my true loves, but I have also worked with primary students on both remedial math and math enrichment.

Experience

I have been teaching for 18 years at the elementary level...but have tutored kindergarteners through high schoolers over the course of my career. I am National Board Certified as an early childhood generalist and have an ESL endorsement. I have taught first grade, second grade, and fifth grade in the past. I am currently teaching gifted fifth and sixth graders.

Approach

I believe in supporting the whole child. When tutoring, this involves building a relationship, discovering a child's strengths, evaluating needs, and extending from there. Students drive my tutoring curriculum...not mandates.
