Fun Facts

One hobby I am passionate about is solving Rubik's cubes for speed, and I used to attend "speed cubing" competitions to race against other people. My fastest time to solve a Rubik's cube in a competition is 9.64 seconds. I am also a huge football fan, but I suck at playing it. In college, I signed up for intramural football just to have fun, and my first game was against the former varsity quarterback for my school! I also like trivia and play on the quiz bowl team for my college.

About Me

This upcoming year, I will be a junior at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I am currently an applied math major, but I am considering seeking a minor in science/tennessee/knoxville">computer science and either a second minor or major in physics. I am currently undecided on what I want to do after undergrad, so I'm trying to leave my options open.

Experience

Before the COVID pandemic, I volunteered to tutor students in math at my high school to gain volunteer hours for National Honors Society. I tutored every math subject offered from Algebra 1 - Calculus. I also have a little brother who I often help with math homework.

Approach

I like puzzle solving and finding solutions to problems, and I like helping other students solve these same problems. I understand how difficult in can be to grasp some concepts in math, and I understand it can take time and practice. My goal is to be patient and treat everyone with kindness and respect.
