Fun Facts
Aside from loving math, I love to be outdoors and explore the nature around us! I enjoy hiking, running, walking my dog Lala, being on the lake, and being outside (if it's warm)! I also am very passionate about yoga and helping others grow into their best, most confident selves! I love to bake, embroider, draw, hang out with family and friends, and watch movies.
About Me
I am a college graduate with a Sociology degree from the University of Oklahoma (which seems rebellious after being born and raised in Austin, TX)! After college, I pursued teaching as my career, so I got my certification online and certified in 4-8 Mathematics. In college, I maintained high grades and was on Dean's Honor Roll, and graduated with Distinction. I've always wanted to make learning fun and approachable for others because that is how I learn best. :)
Experience
I am currently a long-term sub and have been subbing full time this Spring 2022 semester. I worked with different districts and numerous schools, mainly focusing on middle school mathematics. I have taught all kinds of students different approaches to many math topics and have developed close, motivational relationships with students in short amounts of time, helping their confidence and skills grow.
Approach
I struggled with math growing up and want to help change the stigma that math is hard and boring! I always say "I didn't like math until I learned how to do it", which is such a true statement! Once equations are taught and you know how to solve problems, math becomes a breeze. The hardest part is getting there! I believe I have the skills and abilities to help all children learn to love math. Alongside math, I enjoy helping students grow their minds, by helping their confidence build.
