About Me

I have a degree in English and a minor in Spanish from Michigan State University. I have taught inside and outside a classroom setting. The work is rewarding, and I am interested in pursuing the drive to pass along what I have learned in a gentle yet effective manner.

Experience

I started as a volunteer through Michigan State, assisting a teacher in a small classroom setting. I created games and activities to assist in the teaching of basic Spanish vocabulary. I have also worked for Varsity Tutors, assisting students with reading, writing, and math.

Approach

I am a talented writer because I am an avid reader. I am able to help students find the meaning of the literature that we study together, and encourage the discussion and understanding of the themes and motifs. I am also patient and gentle, which harbors safety and trust with a student. This way, a student is not afraid to admit where a misunderstanding exists within the curriculum. I know what it means to struggle with material, and will empathize.
