Fun Facts

I LOVE tennis, and I'm a college NCAA tennis player. I've never been to the Dominican Republic, but I hope to visit sometime soon! I am the second youngest of five. I relocated from Georgia to Iowa for college 900+ miles away from home.

About Me

I'm a Chemistry and Neuroscience major at a small liberal arts college in Iowa. I'm an aspiring physician and public health professional. I enjoy all things STEM and healthcare related. I hope to own my own practice in the future as a Neurologist. I will also be working this summer as a summer learning specialist with Cedar Rapids Public Schools to help close the summer learning gap many students experience during the summer months off from school.

Experience

I have over 4 years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students. Additionally, I have 2.5 years of experience tutoring high school English. I tutored in my free time all of high school and I participated in a program at my school that allowed me to tutor my high school peers in English. Working for Frog Tutoring continues to give me this much needed tutoring interactions I enjoy so much. I have continued my tutoring in college courses that I've performed well in.

Approach

Persistence, Perseverance, and Passion are the three Ps to success. I push all my students and peers to identify what these three Ps mean to them and evaluate how they can use them to prevail in many different academic subjects. Teaching students how to build and maintain routines as it relates to homework and study skills are important to me. However, potentially the most important thing is to teach students to trust themselves through their learning and to lean in on their own understandings.
