Fun Facts

I love coffee flavoured products but don't like black coffee, much more of a tea drinker. Along a similar vein, I am an avid consumer of boba and have a pretty bad sweet tooth. To help balance it out, I actively exercise and enjoy doing cardio. Some other fun facts about me are that I can recite 25 digits of pi, speak 3 languages (English, Mandarin, French), and can play the clarinet. I also have been getting into chess as a way to challenge my brain!

About Me

I am a first-year psychology major at De Anza and Foothill College, currently enrolled in an honors scholar program to transfer to UCLA. I plan to specialize in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology, which applies psychology to improving the workplace and workplace behavior.

Experience

In high school I helped run a local nonprofit which offered free classes of various subjects to elementary/middle schoolers. I have also worked as an instructor at Galileo summer camp at a special site for underserved communities. Additionally, I currently also work as a tutor for another tutoring center called Best Brains. Looking to get more experience and to apply what I've learned in previous jobs; I look forward to helping more students.

Approach

Growing up I was always really bad at memorization, and as a result I had to develop other workarounds to help myself learn better. I believe that this helped me develop important pattern recognition and critical thinking skills which are core to a student's success in later education. I hope to utilise both my studies in the field of psychology as well as my prior experience working with children to facilitate a productive environment where students will improve their studies!
