About Me

I was on the Dean's list in Junior College and as an independent study student taking master's level courses. I was an undergraduate at Tx Woman's University while working full time, caring for my mother and sister, my mom's 5 bedroom house and 2 acres of land. I also graduated Magna Cum Laude from TWU. I love learning new things.

Experience

I started in day care as a 17 year old and attended Junior College where I earned an AA degree in Early Childhood. When i completed my coursework at TX Woman' University, I worked at a Catholic school for a year. Then I got hired on at a big public school, basically on the spot after my interview. I stayed at the school I interviewed with for 23 years and completed my 43 years in education in various situations at that same school.

Approach

I was not an A student as a kid because I found learning dull. I read by the time I was 4, so I needed someone to step up the approach with me with higher level books than Dick and Jane. So as a teacher, I find where my students are and take them on from that point. I've had as many as 3 levels of spelling in my room every week, math groupings and activities to enhance the learning, as well as keep the student interested.
