Fun Facts
Although I'm more involved in STEM subjects, I'm also interested in expanding my knowledge of political science, climate change, and history.
I am also currently involved in my school's dance club! I also love trying new types of sports, and I'm currently learning how to play soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
About Me
I am a rising sophomore at the maryland">University of Maryland with a science/new-jersey/princeton">Computer Science major pursuing a math minor! I'm a member of the QUEST Honors Program, and I've been on the Dean's List for the past year, and I've been predominantly taking science/new-jersey/princeton">Computer Science and Math courses in order to work towards my degree and increase my understanding of both subjects. I am currently the Social Events Director for the Association for Women in Computing, and an Outreach Organizer for the hackathon, Technica. In both of these roles, I have been reaching out to high school and college students and encouraging them to attend our club's events/hackathon. I greatly enjoy meeting new people and engaging with them!
Experience
I have had plentiful experience tutoring students of all age levels ranging from elementary school to college. In high school, I was a member of the National Honors Society where I tutored children K-12 in math. I have had experience mainly teaching elementary and high school math. I have also worked at a summer camp with middle school children where I assisted in teaching math, engineering, and robotics. As a sophomore, I will be working on campus as a Peer Advisor for the CS department.
Approach
As a tutor, it's important to understand that there can be different types of learners. Since I've personally experimented with so many different study methods, it's much easier for me to design study plans for different types of students. In the first few meetings, I experimented with different study methods such as education games, interactive powerpoints, different types of practice problems, review videos, flashcards, and Q&As with the student to best understand how they learn.
