Fun Facts
When I was 20 years old I moved to California to work on a Tibetan cultural preservation project that focused on the translation and production of sacred Buddhist texts. I have lived in Hawaii and worked as a natural landscaping and farm apprentice, worked for a tea company in Ireland, and have studied both Tibetan Buddhist and Vedic Hindu sacred texts and religion extensively over the last decade. I'm also a certified yoga instructor and holistic nutritionist!
About Me
In October of 2021 I graduated with my Master's of Science in Psychology, concentration in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Previous to earning my MS degree I graduated summa cum laude from SNHU with a BA in Anthropology, concentration Sustainability. I have been tutoring social sciences and ESL to K-12 and college-level students remotely since beginning of 2020 and use a variety of platforms to conduct sessions. My primary tutoring job is with the Princeton Review, but because summers tend to be slower I am expanding my reach to find students who are taking classes during these months to keep my tutoring muscles strong.
Experience
Currently tutoring is my primary job and has been for the last 2 years. I have worked as a live, on-demand homework help coach as well as contract tutor in long-form, repeat sessions. I regularly work with students as young as 1st grade (usually for reading assignments) all the way to college level.
Approach
I tend to have a more calm, laid back approach to tutoring. I work to adjust my instruction method to meet students where they are, and gently guide back students who tend to get off track. I like to use real-world examples to clarify concepts and try to frequently check in with the students to gain insight on their opinions and thoughts on the material being covered.
