I am pursuing a career in registered nursing and will begin nursing school in January of 2023. I am also a former medical student with a Master of Science in Medical Science and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am also a medical scribe, so I have experience in using the knowledge clinically and am proficient in grammar, spelling, speed reading, reading comprehension, and writing.
Not only have I completed an enormous number of practice questions for each topic in Human Anatomy & Physiology, I have utilized mnemonics, flowcharts, tables, notes, images, YouTube videos, interactive websites, the meanings of prefixes and suffixes, et cetera, to become a human anatomy and physiology expert. Therefore, I am prepared to answer any human anatomy and physiology question and prepared to help a student learn it through the student’s predominant learning style(s) (visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic).
Experience
I have only tutored my classmates in human anatomy and physiology so far and intend on further developing my experience through this platform. I do have experience tutoring 1st-6th graders in language arts, writing, math, science, and social studies in an after school program for 2.5 years, teaching high school biology as a summer school course, and worked as a middle school science interventionist for 5 months.
Approach
I tutor using active learning techniques and with an emphasis on understanding rather than memorization. My approach has helped me learn course material efficiently and retain it. I am prepared to use numerous study techniques to help students learn the material. My goal in tutoring is to help students understand concepts so that they can teach the concepts themselves and to help students never ever feel like they need to pull an all-nighter before an exam again.
