I recently graduated college with honors and am in a postbaccalaureate research program at the University of Utah. I am a retired college athlete at the D2 level, playing basketball and ending my career tied for first in the South Atlantic Conference for assists per game. My current hobbies include reading, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate majoring in chemistry and minoring in human biology with a concentration in pre-medicine. I was on the Dean's List for all four years and also on the SAC Commissioner's honor roll list for all four years as well. I am currently in a research-intensive program for the year in hopes to apply to various MD-PhD programs.

Experience

As a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, I was able to develop leadership and mentorship skills. This past year I also tutored some teammates in their STEM courses and my little cousin who is a sophomore in high school.

Approach

I encourage students to ask questions and also like to ask them questions to make sure they understand the material. I find that most students know how to regurgitate information instead of actually understanding the material and applying it. I love positive reinforcement because it is essential for the student to be uplifting during the learning process, not belittled.
