Fun Facts

I absolutely LOVE reading! You'll most often find me outside or in a cozy corner with my nose in a book. I also enjoy traveling; I've been to fourteen states and six countries!

About Me

I am currently a senior pursuing my Bachelors of Arts at Kalamazoo College, one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation. I am double-majoring in Anthropology/Sociology and Art History, minoring in Political Science, and studying a concentration in Film and Media Studies. As electives, I have studied creative writing, intermediate French, and theater. I am a six-term member of the Dean's List.

I graduated high school in 2019 with highest honors and a 4.2 GPA. I enrolled in a total of eight AP courses, earning a test score of 4 or better in US History, World History, English Language, Chemistry, and Biology. With these scores, I was awarded the AP Scholar with Honor (2018) and the AP Scholar with Distinction (2019) by the College Board. In addition, my PSAT and SAT scores both fell in the 99th percentile.

Upon graduating from K College, I plan on attending graduate school in pursuit of a social science doctorate degree.

Experience

As a two-year member of National Honor Society, I had the honor of conducting weekly tutoring in all subjects at my high school. I also spent the duration of my senior year tutoring a student with a processing disorder, so I am adept at working with students with a variety of different learning abilities and needs. During my time in college, I attended numerous advanced seminars aimed at improving argumentative and analytical writing, study methods, reading comprehension, and verbal clarity.

Approach

Since my early childhood, I have throughly enjoyed coming to class, interacting with my teachers and peers, and always bringing home something new I learned. However, I recognize that this is not the case for students who may struggle in a school environment that utilizes traditional teaching methods. Because of this, I would love to be an influential figure in a student's academic career by catering to their specific needs and instilling in them the drive to learn every single day.
