Fun Facts

I love learning about plants and growing them in my home! I grow herbs that I harvest to make herbal teas and tinctures. I'm also very interested in nutrition and could talk about it for hours. In my other free time, I like deconstructing small household appliances and using their parts for other purposes. I am in the process of constructing a fake window using parts from an alarm clock, broken TV, and outdoor security light. I also love music, and I dabble in recording my own songs.

About Me

I am currently a fourth-year PhD student in electrical engineering at NC State University. My dissertation work is in super-resolution ultrasound imaging, which is a high-resolution imaging method for reconstructing microvasculature. I am a published scientific author with one article published in the IEEE TUFFC journal.

Experience

My official tutoring experience started in college when one of the students in my physics class approached me, asking for help in the class. I began tutoring the student, whose scores increased as we worked together. This grew to a group of five students whom I tutored for each exam in our class. I continued tutoring international classmates for free throughout college.

Approach

I believe that the key to long-term success in school is to love learning, and giving that back to the student is my number one goal in tutoring. I think that many people are driven by fear and worry when it comes to learning. We need to become like children once again, where new information sparks joy and curiosity deep within us and propels us forward into new learning.
