About Me

I have tutored my friends and family members in the past in all different subjects including Math & Science. My name is Karina Torres. I attend houston">the houston">University of Houston-Downtown (UHD). I am currently a Freshman as well as a part of the Scholars Academy at UHD. I am majoring in Chemistry with a focus in Biochemistry. My GPA is unknown as of today since I am still completing my first semester at UHD. After doing my undergrad at UHD, I plan on attending medical school where I hope to become a pediatrician or pediatric oncologist.

My initial houston">tutoring approach is the same to all subjects:
1. Find out what the student understands and does not understand.
2. Ask the student what is it that he or she doesn't understand specifically about a problem.
3. Work out a similar problem like the one given and slowly walk the student through each step of solving the problem, ensuring that they understand one step before moving on to the next.
