Fun Facts
My senior year of college, I moved to South Africa and taught 7th grade English! It was such an incredible experience to get to teach overseas. I'm actually certified to teach English abroad, and would love to travel to another country and teach someday!
About Me
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's in education/georgia/atlanta">Special Education. I have been a teacher for the last 3 years, but have decided to go back to school to get my Master's in Public Health. I still substitute teach in my free time, and love tutoring and mentoring students on the side.
Experience
I have experience in elementary, middle and high school, but have specifically taught 8th-12th grade. I am a certified education/georgia/atlanta">Special Education and English teacher for all grade levels, but also have certifications in Math, Science and Social Studies for grades K-8. I have tutored students at all school levels and feel comfortable working with any age group!
Approach
I feel as though kids learn best when a positive and supportive relationship has been built between themselves and their teacher. My top priorities are to create a positive learning environment and to get to know and understand my students. The more I get to know them, the more I'm able to understand what works and what doesn't work for them personally and academically. The more trust is built in the relationship, the more the students are willing to open up and really connect with their teacher
