Fun Facts

I have 2 Pomeranians and 3 cats. I also love rock climbing and skateboarding.

About Me

I’m currently a presidential post doctoral fellow at Arizona State University conducting biophysics research. I will likely have a tenure track faculty position at ASU in 3-4 years. I am very knowledge in many science and math areas and have tutoring experience to high school and college students.

Experience

I tutored several high school students in math biology physics and chemistry while in undergraduate. I also tutored college physics and molecular biology. I didn’t have much time in graduate school to tutor but I did tutor a friend in chemistry 1 and 2 for her college work. While in graduate school I taught several courses for graduate students. Currently I do a couple lectures each semester on cryo-electron microscopy to a graduate level membrane biophysics course.

Approach

I think memorization is the most useless and difficult skill they try to instill in school. My approach is to help people understand complicated processes fundamentally so that they can logically come up with answers rather than memorizing. I also like to come up with unique analogies to make complicated things more tangible. Practice makes perfect and I think going over as many practice problems as possible is the best way to understand material.
