I am a singer/songwriter and poet. I also love musicals and have seen quite a few Broadway plays when I lived in New York . I hope to write my own musical one day.

About Me

I am a singer/songwriter, who loves to write songs, poems and plays in my free time. I also love to travel and have been to few countries in Europe. I have a degree in Finance and worked for over 15 years in the Corporate World of Banking and Finance before switching careers to teaching. I have a passion for sharing information and being creative, which is why I switched to teaching. I am a live long learner and want to share that joy of learning with others.

Experience

I am an elementary school teacher who has been teaching for 8 years. I've taught 5th grade Math, 4th and 5th grade English, 1st grade and have been a Reading Interventionist for grades
K-2. I have been a tutor on and off for over 10 years , tutoring 1st to 6th grade students. I love to help people of all ages learn. And have also taught ESOL (English as a Second Language) to adults at a local college and online.

Approach

My approach to teaching is to highlight the strengths of the students, because everyone has a gift or strengths that they sometimes take for granted or sometimes discount all together. I particularly like to use this approach with my young students. Then, I identify areas of weakness in the student and focus on building those areas up. I like to build confidence and encourage them to become more proficient in any area of academic weakness and to celebrate all gains.
