I try to make learning interesting because I know how boring learning is sometimes especially when it comes to subjects like reading comprehension and history.
About Me
I am a student at pace university and I am strong in teaching reading and writing, and history. I am majoring in biology and I have some experience tutoring at my middle school and high school.
Experience
when I was in middle school I was assigned to tutor some people after school for reading, writing, and history. in high school I helped tutor some students in a program called s.o.a.r which I even got tutored in sometimes.
Approach
I always experienced studying or learning something new as boring and difficult, especially if the teachers explanation was difficult to understand. so I would try and find different ways to learn the subject while making it fun. I experienced how other students are similar to me so I try and find a way to get them interested in the topic so they can perform well.

biology
AP English Tutoring
I took AP English for 1 year in high school and I passed the class and exam with a good score. in my AP English class we focused on the comprehension of classic novels such as "the great Gatsby" and " of mice and men" where we discussed theme and wrote argumentative essays, which are my strong points.
AP History Tutoring
I did very well in high school with my history classes especially my AP class. in my AP history class we discussed the cultural, political, social, and economic developments that shaped America. I personally helped the people I tutored finding a more exciting and easier way to remember certain events. I also help by showing them the difference between writing an essay and writing an AP essay.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
reading comprehension can be quite difficult for some people because through experience I see that a lot of people read and don't really understand what they are reading. so I usually have students read aloud and summarize what they read so they can understand what they are reading.
Religion Tutoring
when I teach students about religion I teach based on an educational level and not on a personal level.
History Tutoring
I am very good at teaching history and I use methods which will be very helpful for middle school history and high school. methods such as primary source essays and secondary source essays.
Writing Tutoring
as I am in college now, I am in writing workshops to better my own writing. so when I teach students how to write their own essays for their respective subject I will incorporate what I know and learned to them to prep them to write college level essays.
Health Tutoring
I am a biology major in college and in high school I had taken a college level health class. while tutoring students about health I learned that most students prefer and photographic approach when it comes to health, and I plan to use as much pictures and graphs needed to help them understand.
Reading Tutoring
when I teach reading I mostly aim to make sure that my student knows what exactly they are reading, basically reading comprehension.
Social Studies Tutoring
elementary social studies mostly focuses on U.S government so I plan on discussing the importance and what the U.S government does.
