Fun Facts

I absolutely love going to the movies and watching any movie despite the ratings! I've been thinking of getting into photography as well as astrophotography in the future. Love listening to music, specifically R&B, soul, Latin music, hip-hop, and rap.

About Me

I am an inquisitive, curious fourth-year physics undergraduate student at the riverside">University of California, Riverside (UCR) doing a self-specialization in astrophysics and mathematical physics. Prior, I went to Moreno Valley College (while in high school) and I received my Associate of Science in math and science with summa-cum-laude status. I plan on going to graduate school right after I graduate from UCR for my Ph.D. in astrophysics with an emphasis on theory.

Experience

While in Moreno Valley College, I had the opportunity to tutor four classmates in two semesters of single-variable calculus, which was both unpaid and unsupervised (no faculty involved). Before I graduated, I was encouraged by my calculus 1 and linear algebra professor to tutor all math branches offered by the college due to my success in comprehending well mathematical theory and applications.

Approach

As an aspiring college physics professor doing research in theoretical astrophysics and mathematical physics, teaching mathematics and physics to young students has always been very essential to me. To me, mathematics is a beautiful language that is spoken by the universe to communicate its physical laws that are casted upon its constituents. My approach to teaching and tutoring these two subjects is by putting forth this philosophy, which I do so with emphasizing student interaction with the tutor (me). I would usually quickly review/teach the subject and the essential meaning for why the concept is studied in the first place (this one is key since most students I encounter don't understand the importance of the concept besides "to finish homework") and then we follow with examples where I initially guide the student through the first few problems and then allow them to do it themselves.
