Fun Facts

Not only do I study history, but I love the subject. I understand that not everyone does, but it is a passion of mine to share and build the skills of a historian in others! Outside of academia, I am a huge fan of animals, dogs in particular, and music! I live right here in Texas, and I look forward to meeting people from all backgrounds!

About Me

My name is Jessica Tran, and I am a second-year student at Texas Christian University! I am involved in several organizations, some of which are FrogPack, the Food Recovery Network, and the Environmental Club. I have been on the Dean's List for two semesters, and on the TCU's Scholars for one. When I graduate, I hope to attend the University of Austin at Texas to obtain my master's degree! Eventually, I plan to earn a doctoral degree in history, with an emphasis in either the classical Chinese or European period.

Experience

I have not had formal experience in tutoring, but I have assisted several colleagues throughout my time as a student. I believe I am fit for this position as I have helped others in a school setting and have a good hold on how to learn and succeed inside and outside of the classroom!

Approach

I understand the numerous ways people approach and take in information, and I believe I can facilitate the proper process for a said student—whether it be visual, auditory, or a mix of both. Additionally, I want to make this session between them and I more friendly yet efficient. I am an open-minded and flexible individual that has no problem with different ideas and opinions.
