Fun facts about me:
I love God, photography, and going to the beach which is my happy place. I've lived in California my whole life and recently this year moved to New Mexico. I am getting married later this year in Vegas!
About Me
I am an undergraduate Psychology major that graduated in 2020 from the California State University of Monterey Bay with a 3.8 G.P.A. (Magna Cum Laude). I am planning on getting a teaching credential next year. I have always had a passion for both Psychology and English and am fluent in both Spanish and English.
Experience
I have worked as a tutor in the past assisting students with both English and math creating unique learning objectives for each student based on their specific goals. I've coordinated fun games for younger students to play such as charades or Kahoot to make learning more fun. I've also assisted Spanish-speaking students with improving their English reading skills.
Approach
Throughout school, I noticed the vast difference between each teacher's attitude and how that affected my learning. Negative teachers who discouraged students by stating the subject was hard and many would not do well harmed my learning journey. My approach would be to emulate the teachers I had who showed positive, empathetic, and encouraging attitudes and who at the same time catered to the student's specific learning style.

Psychology
English Tutoring
I have taken English 1A and English 2 in college with A's in both classes. My Psychology degree also required lots of writing and reading and it's something that I have always had a passion for.
Psychology Tutoring
I received my B.A. in Psychology and received an A in every Psychology class I have taken. I have taken classes such as social psychology, developmental psychology, biological psychology, clinical psychology, statistical psychology, research psychology, etc. I truly love learning and talking about psychology!
Writing Tutoring
There was a lot of writing involved within the psychology major and it is something I've always enjoyed doing!
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have always enjoyed reading and English in general and have received A's in all the English classes I have taken in college. I also have experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in English.
Spanish I Tutoring
I took Spanish 1 in college and received and A. I am also a native Spanish speaker so I am fluent in the language. I practice it on the daily with family members, friends, and in church!

In the past I've tutored both elementary and middle school students with improving their reading skills including those students whose first language was not English.
