About Me

I graduated cum laude from UC Irvine with a degree in neuroscience. My long-term goal is to become a professional data scientist, but I have a passion for helping others achieve excellence. Ideally, I will be somehow involved with students for the rest of my career.

Experience

I have been tutoring math privately since 2017, with an additional two years of experience working for my local community college. I have tutored math at all levels between middle school and the completion of a math minor, with excellent results. Most students I have worked with for a prolonged time have seen more than a letter grade improvement.

Approach

I believe many students struggle because they are subject to rote-learning methods that do not encourage comprehension. This leaves the students inflexible and unable to tackle new problems if they are too dissimilar to what they have already seen. I work with students to develop independent critical thinking skills so they can tackle any problem they are exposed to when I am not present.
