Learning multiple languages can be an arduous task! I have experience learning multiple languages as well as teaching non-native speakers various languages! I took French in high school and in college. I am told I have a Southern French accent!

Speech Pathology Tutoring

I started out learning at Western Washington University about communication sciences and disorders and wanted to become a speech pathologist. I studied and made models of various parts of the mechanisms used in speech as a student. I became more interested in the linguistics side of speech-language pathology and majored in Linguistics with a focus on teaching English to speakers of other languages. Both linguistics and speech pathology focus a lot on phonetics. If you struggle with memorization of anatomy physiology or phonetics you will find greater understanding with my guidance!

ESL Tutoring

I have my TESOL certification from Western Washington University. I have 120 hours of service learning (teaching college-level students English) as part of my training which is beyond the standard amount. I have taught native Chinese, Saudi Arabian, German, Japanese, and Spanish speakers various lessons on learning to speak the English language.

I also have experience teaching K-12 native Chinese speakers and native Spanish speakers on various platforms.

Psychology Tutoring

I studied abnormal psychology during college along with communication sciences and disorders; synesthesia, hyperactive behavior, autism, childhood language development, etc. I also did a lot of research on how diet can play a huge role in the brain's functions.

I am a musician; piano, ukulele, guitar, voice, etc. I also use a lot of visuals when I create lessons. I am good at teaching techniques in various art aspects. I have some experience in graphic design. I have been drawing since I can remember. When I was age 7 I drew a picture of Minnie Mouse and it aired on the Disney channel!

I have been tutoring for a long time and I have learned that everyone has a different style to how they learn. I hope to help future students find what they need to study better whether that is using music, repetition, storytelling, etc.

I have helped many non-native English speakers improve their reading skills across various educational platforms. Music can be a great tool to help learners read at a faster pace and having them create their own stories can also help them improve as well as be creative!

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I find that asking open-ended questions is one of the best methods to check a student's comprehension of materials. A student needs to demonstrate their comprehension by answering questions that might be used on an exam and in conversation.

Science Tutoring

I have experience teaching students about photosynthesis, animal husbandry, environments, and more! I have taught mostly non-native English speakers these subjects. I have seen lots of positive feedback and comprehension from past students!

Social Studies Tutoring

I try to leave out religion and politics. Equal rights, race, and gender pronouns are only a few of the simpler parts that I have experience teaching younger students. I ask open-ended questions to see where a student's skill levels are.
