Fun Facts
I love makeup and dance! These are two hobbies that I have had for my entire life. During my teenage years, I was able to create a stream of income doing makeup for others with the skills I taught myself. I was also part of my school's dance team for middle and high school and (almost) went into choreography!
About Me
Hi! I grew up in Memphis, and from 1st to 12th grade, I was always put in an advanced learning environment. After graduating, I decided to pursue a career in the military; a huge part of me has never been able to deny that I want to help educate our youth! I enjoy teaching others how to excel in ALL subjects simply by using the most appropriate learning method for your brain. Since I am a member of the national guard, I can pursue a civilian career while also being a part-time student. Upon graduating, I plan to be an elementary school teacher.
Experience
In 5th grade, a teacher submitted me for the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC. I was able to visit the White House! I remained a member of a critical thinking club from 3rd to 8th grade. Once I started high school, I was able to go into sophomore math as a freshman, and I started to take Advanced Placement Classes ( US History, World History, English Composition, and AP Literature). I graduated with a 4.1 GPA.
Approach
As a child, I always performed well grade-wise. This was because even when I did not completely understand a topic, I was able to use different methods to help me retain my grades while I try to learn. Cramming before a test doesn’t always work, and failing a test doesn’t mean you have to give up. I figured out it is extremely important to learn with a student to create a form of teaching that will stick with them.
