Fun Facts

Children are near and dear to my heart. Watching young students learn to read is like watching a light bulb come on. I am a fun person that loves teaching and traveling the world. This way in my travels I can bring back my experiences to my students. My students have viewed a video that I bought back from London of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. I have also bought back cotton from a field in Georgia and explained to the students that this is the cotton that clothes are made

About Me

I am a retired DC Public Schools education/virginia/washington-dc">Special Education Teacher where I taught for thirty years. Reading is my love. Helping students achieve the goals listed on their IEPs is so rewarding to me. I was once videotaped for the DC School Superintendent as the Outstanding New Teacher of the Year. I have experience teaching online through Zoom.

Experience

When I graduated from Howard University I had the highest degree in Education. I graduated from Kappa Delta Phi and therefore I was given the honor of leading the entire University into the Graduation. I walked hand in hand with the School Chancellor leading the Graduating Class out to the stage. I will never forget that day.

Approach

As a tutor, I will give my student my undivided attention. There will be great communication also with the Frog Tutoring and the parent to ensure that my student will learn to the best of their ability.
