Fun Facts

I have a two year old dog named Khaleesi. I really love trying new recipes. I have won an Emmy award for television production. I live in Kentucky, which is the home of the Kentucky Derby, but I am originally from Ohio, the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. I do not like raw tomatoes, but I love cooked tomatoes. I eat cooked tomatoes several times a week on pizza or pasta. I really like chocolate chip cookies and Rice Krispie treats. My favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid. So, that's me!

About Me

I have worked in the following areas: television, radio, government, and now academia as a Political Science teacher. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Kentucky in the Political Science Department. I began my radio and television career in 2001. In 2007, I left tv to begin my career in public service. I love history, social studies, and politics. I have managed three political campaigns. Before becoming a campaign manager I worked in government at the state and local levels.

Experience

I have experience teaching and tutoring at the elementary, middle school, and college levels. I am always looking for new ways to diversify my syllabus and lesson plans. I collect articles, clippings, videos, and materials I believe will be useful in my classroom experience. Most recently, I purchased a copy of a Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
