I am a full-time 4th-grade reading and writing teacher. I have been in education for over ten years and have taught full-time for 7 of those years. I received my master’s in education and have fully certified in ESL and Gifted and Talented.

I have taught fluency, phonics, and reading comprehension for seven years and have worked as an interventionist helping students. I am certified to teach core subjects, grade levels K-6 for the state of Texas and K-12 for the state of Idaho.

One of my passions as a human is learning. Throughout my experiences as a student and in the education field for over ten years. Providing students with the best study habits is essential; just like STAAR preparation, study skills (preparing for a test) are crucial. I have over 10 years of experience preparing students for exams and quizzes.

As a reading teacher, I also teach writing. Writing and reading are two subjects that must be taught together to ensure mastery of the language. I am certified to teach writing in Texas for grade levels K-6 and in Idaho K-12.

Along with teaching and helping students with mastering the skills (TEKS), I also prepare students to take the test that happens in the Spring. Therefore, STAAR strategies are incorporated into my daily lessons and help students feel confident and prepared for it.
