I really love DIY projects. I enjoy turning old things into something new and getting to put my own twist to it. I also enjoy the challenge and creativeness of DIY projects.
About Me
I am 29 and I have been working in youth behavior and mental health for about 7 years now. I graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2015 and Nova Southeastern University in 2019. I am currently work for Mental Health America of the MidSouth and I am the program supervisor and west TN coordinator for or Erasing the Stigma Youth Program. I am very passionate about educating youth about mental health and giving them the resources and tools needed to help them better their mental health.
Experience
I have worked with children from ages 3-18 years old. I have experienced working in after school programs assisting students with academics needs, I have provided one-on-one tutoring to elementary aged students, and I have also worked one-on-one with children with autism. I have a variety of experience with working with youth of all ages and from various backgrounds.
Approach
As a child, I grew up in a low income environment. I was fortunate enough to have faculty members that provided me with tools needed to excel academically. I was able to apply myself and have a support system to push me towards a bright future. I want to be the support system, the resource, and the helping hand that students need. Some students need that extra push and I want to be able to lead them to a brighter future.

Elementary Math Tutoring
Throughout the pandemic, I tutored a couple of students in elementary math and was able to improve their grades. I also worked with children with autism and was able to improve their math skills by using strategies such as touch math. Touch math is great to use with addition, subtraction, and counting money.
