Fun Facts
One great fact about myself is that I am half Native American and half Danish, with a long line of ancestors who have fought battles on opposite sides of the world! Also, I regularly practice the indigenous culture of sacred Pow-Wow dancing, singing, and regalia craftwork. For us, going to pow-wows and meeting with friends in our community is representative of our connection to our Creator, celebrating the things we love and live for.
About Me
I have been primarily homeschooled most of my life, so while I did very well with various scholarly subjects, I had very little experience with socialization and making friends. I spent about 10 years of my life in Scouting and fixed that almost immediately. I managed to earn my Eagle, and from then on, I learned that one of my biggest priorities is to make friends wherever I go!
For fun, I enjoy listening to music (I even have a nice Vinyl record collection!), playing video and board games, and watching both really good movies (Good Bad Ugly, The Matrix, Star Wars, etc.), as well as really bad movies that I can laugh at with my friends (B horror movies and others that are so bad they become good).
Experience
Most of my experience comes from my time spent in Scouting. As a new scout, I learned basic practical skills that I mastered through the scenarios I faced in different camping or hiking endeavors. As an older and mature scout, I served as a role model for the 50 or more young scouts that deserved to go through some of the same experiences I had and learn from them. This is the last time I'll bring up scouting I promise. In that program, we have the EDGE method, which stands for Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable, which serves as one of the most ideal processes of tutoring I've known.
