Fun Facts

Something I love spending time doing is flipping furniture. Searching for furniture with potential, brainstorming ways to fix it, and watching the process of bringing the furniture back to life is amazing! I also love to travel and immerse myself in other cultures. My favorite countries I've visited have been the Czech Republic and Austria.

About Me

I am a graduate of Fresno State University where I received a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. I was on the dean's list twice! At Fresno State, I was exposed to many professors who taught me the significance of universal design learning and how to implement that in a classroom. This proved beneficial during my time as a student teacher.

Experience

As a fourth-grade student teacher, I spent 6 hours a day working with students and learning how to accommodate all learning styles. I used my knowledge of universal design learning and culturally sustaining pedagogy to create lesson plans and plan activities. Also as an English tutor, I spent my time learning more about California state standards depending on each student and using that knowledge to teach. Approach

It was not until later in my life that I learned the vitality of a growth mindset. Dismantling a fixed mindset is the most important way to teach students. It is best to introduce this concept to create an environment where students feel safer and more capable.
