Fun Facts

I was homeschooled for most of my life, which resulted in me retaining a love of learning throughout my education. I love all animals, especially dogs. I also love the outdoors and enjoy going hiking and camping.

About Me

I am a senior in high school and I am currently earning my Associate of Science at Johnston Community College. I hope to attend UNC Asheville when I graduate. I hope to work in Environmental Science after college.

Experience

I have worked as an After School Instructor with Next Prep Kids since February 2022. My responsibilities involved helping students with homework and teaching topics that they had not fully grasped in class. I also have worked with students in Scouting and at my local library. I am looking forward to being able to share my love of learning with your student!

Approach

I struggled with school during my time in elementary and middle school due to ADD, so I understand how hard learning can be sometimes. I prefer to teach to mastery instead of to the test. While I realize that knowing what a student knows is essential, the students that I have worked with have tests constantly, which adds to their workload. I prefer making sure a student has a solid base in a topic before we move forward, rather than rushing the learning.
