Fun Facts
I have lived in Japan, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Mississippi, California, Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina, and, of course, Massachusetts. I love sailing and surfing -- and really anything you can do in the ocean -- riding my bike, and exploring new places. I used to be a whitewater canoeing trip leader, for which I had to learn how to deliver a baby in the woods.

Approach
My goal is to create opportunities for students to make their own discoveries. boston">Tutoring, because it is one-on-one, has the danger of becoming prescriptive. boston">Tutors should not be telling students what to write or exactly how to interpret an assignment or a story, but rather lead that student to strengthen the skills they'll need to work and think creatively and effectively without a boston">tutor. My goal, in short, is to become unneeded. I hope to be a sounding board for the ideas and thoughts of student
