Fun Facts
I am a first-generation American, lived my whole life in the Chicagoland area, and am fluent in both English and Spanish. My passions are family, community, and church. When I am not doing school work or at my job, I can usually be found volunteering as an ENG/SPN interpreter at the local food pantries or health clinics.
About Me
I am a senior at Northeastern Illinois University acquiring my first bachelors late in life. I have 2 adult children, the youngest one in college, so almost an empty-nester. My major is Interdisciplinary Studies with a TESOL minor.
Experience
I have worked as an interpreter since I was a child, decided to take my bilingual skills and turn them into teaching - empowering others.
Approach
I have come to realize that we acquire new information and learn very differently, as I saw with my own two children. I do not walk into new situations with any expectations. Instead, I walk in and wait to be shown what others need from me.
