Fun Facts
Once, in Las Vegas, magician David Copperfield made me disappear.
I have the 2nd largest collection of early dates (pre-1600) in the U.S.
About Me
I received my BA (Psychology) in 1999 and my MS (Personal Financial Planning) in 2005.
Experience
I have taught or tutored ages ranging from 3rd grade to MBA students. I worked as a caseworker and would coach/tutor financial literacy to my caseload, mostly in a group setting. In Graduate school, I tutored a couple of classmates, as well as undergrads. While living in Houston, I co-instructed a course designed to help recent retirees. When I lived in San Antonio I was an Adjunct Professor. I currently mentor undergraduate students at Texas A&M (thesis).
Approach
I have found that the best approach to almost any meeting is to be a good listener. Ask engaging questions, joke around a little, find commonalities, etc. I am extremely prepared and very agile in conversation. Although I am challenging throughout the session, I try to end each session with something a bit more stimulating for them to think about.
