Fun Facts
My father is French and was a stay at home dad, so I grew up in washington/seattle">Seattle speaking both English and French. I lived in the SW of France and went to public school there for 3rd and 4th grade. I think that because of my cross-cultural upbringing I have always loved traveling to new places, meeting new people, and discovering new cultures. During my junior year of college I studied abroad in East Africa. This experience has effected the way that I live my life now, and my goals for the future. Besides traveling, another hobby of mine is Volleyball. I played on my middle school and high school teams and continue to seek out any opportunity to play!
About Me
I graduated from Lewis & Clark College (LC) in May with a BA in Psychology and a GPA of 3.6. I plan to go back to school in a few years to pursue a masters in global health. I was a coxswain for the LC crew team and was a recipient on the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference All-Academic Team. During my last semester at LC I was on the Dean's List and became a member of Psi Chi, a Psychology Honors Society.
At Lewis & Clark College I served as a TA and portland">Tutor for the intro to Statistics class. I partook in summer research on campus that was funded by the Community Engagement & Leadership in Science (CELS) initiative which aims to engage at-risk high school students with careers in the sciences. During this experience I partook in cutting-edge Psychological research while mentoring a high school student. I also served as a volunteer for 826 washington/seattle">Seattle, helping students with writing and college entrance essays. I enjoy working with youth and hope to continue making a difference through Frog portland">Tutoring.
I have found that in order to be an effective portland">tutor it is important to first listen to students. Understanding where the students are coming from, and what they are struggling with, allows me to identify the gaps in their knowledge and find the best ways to fill it. Teaching is also a very creative process and each student deserves a unique approach. I attempt to combine humor and fun with learning and tailor each experience to each individual.
