Fun Facts
I love history, singing, reading, teaching, learning, genealogy, and having fun. I took six years of French and remember enough to help little kids learn. I also love animals and also was a den leader for cub scouts for six years. I've run art camps for kids, coached t-ball, and spent 12 years serving on the education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education Parent Council for the Gilbert School District.
About Me
Presently, I am a caregiver for a young adult with Cerebral Palsy. He is amazingly smart and kind. Lucky for me, he's also my son. He knows everything, almost, about history, religion, geography, music, sports, politics, and more. He'll be a big help too if I need something. I have two sons and lots of pets. I also volunteer for a pug rescue. I have two bachelor's degrees in Art and English, and an AA in Advertising. I love writing and editing the most.
Experience
I've volunteered in my kid's classrooms since preschool. I've helped teachers with everything from art projects to reading to math and grading papers. I love helping kids learn. I am a very hands-on mom. When they were small, I sat with them every night to work on their homework, learning math, English and reading.
Approach
As a child, I was bored in school and didn't care about sitting still and learning from a teacher who just lectured me. I did best in classes where the teacher made it interesting with a more hands-on approach, letting us ask questions and talk more, or giving us projects that involved art and being creative. Every kid is different. I like to get to know my kids and find out what works best for them before diving in.

I trained as a Graphic Artist in college and spent 15 years as a Designer, Editor, Marketing Coordinator, and Creative Director, before switching careers. My love for art extends to drawing, painting, crafts, and creating stained glass.
English Tutoring
I love reading and writing so I decidded to double majorf in Art and english, in college. My degree is in Creative Writing. I love to write short stories. poetry, and children's books. At some point, I hope to be a published author..I have spent many years editing and writing in my career.

I have a lifelong love of history. I want to know the stories, events, families, and other information about the events that have shaped the world. I enjoy historic photography, history museums, excursions to historic places, and wandering through historic cemeteries.

I will reread a book many times to thoroughly understand the tone, subject, history, nuances, characters, and other details.
